Ensign-Bickford Industries, Inc. (EBI) today announced it has successfully closed on its acquisition of Honeybee Robotics, Ltd., headquartered in Brooklyn, New York.

EBI, headquartered in Simsbury, Connecticut is a 181 year-old privately held corporation with diversified businesses in aerospace and defense, molecular diagnostics, and pet food palatability markets. Honeybee Robotics will be established as a fourth business within the EBI family. Commenting on the acquisition, EBI President and CEO Tom Perlitz said, “We are pleased to welcome Honeybee Robotics to the EBI team and excited about the opportunities to help them continue to grow. The space market has been and continues to be strategic to us and this acquisition is important for executing on our long-term vision for EBI.”

One of EBI’s current businesses, Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense (EBAD) serves as a prime contractor and supplier to most primes in the areas of Space Launch Vehicles, Satellites and Spacecraft, Missiles, and Soldier Systems. Honeybee Robotics supports many of the same customers as EBAD, providing mission solutions for Mechanisms, Control, Instrumentation and Robotic Systems in Space.
